2025 Eye Camp to Nubri, Nepal
We are excited to announce a life-changing initiative that Delek Children’s Foundation will organize in April 2025 in partnership with renowned Ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit in Nepal. After many months of planning, we finally got in touch with Dr. Ruit, and he was very receptive to our request and agreed to join us with our project. He could commit to this Eye Camp in April 2025 despite his busy schedule. This will be our 3rd Free Eye Camp in India and Nepal. This time, we have selected the remote village of Nubri in Nepal as we have received multiple requests from the village. We couldn’t visit this area during the last Eye Camp in Tsum Valley in April due to time and budget constraints. Many villagers in these parts of the country are still struggling with vision impairment, particularly with cataracts, and we aim to bring hope and healing to this underserved community.
What We’re Doing: Our team will provide free Eye Check-Ups and Cataract Surgeries to those in need under the skilled hands of Dr. Ruit, an award-winning ophthalmologist. Dr. Ruit dedicated his career to restoring sight and transforming lives, and we are honored to have him lead this mission.
Our team will provide :
- Provide free eye examinations for hundreds of individuals.
- Distribute prescription glasses to those in need.
- Educate the community about eye health and preventive care.
- Deliver food supplies, clothing, and meals to enhance their well-being.
- Purchase Medical supplies and equipment.
- Provide accommodation and meals to the medical team.
Ven. Thupten Donyo started this Foundation on His Holiness Dalai Lama’s advice during the visit in San Francisco in 2007. That year Ven Donyo was able to organize series of talks by His Holiness Dalai Lama at Bill Graham Hall in San Francisco. During the visit, His Holiness advised him to help uplift the lives of the Himalayan children.
